The response papers should be part summary of the article that you read, but also analysis of the content presented in the article, connecting it to course themes. Don’t just summarize! Let us know what you think and if the article was successful or not in arguing the author’s main points, if the sources the author used are credible, where the argument could be improved, etc. The papers should be double-spaced in Times 12 font and 3 pages long, give or take a sentence or two. Footnotes are not necessary, just identification of the essay (a single bibliographical entry at the beginning of the paper will do) and then parenthetical documentation indicating pages for direct quotations or substantial paraphrases.
