initiating different learning style of patients by offering written material, videos and one on one training. This promotes better understanding by the patient. I believe that is our role as nurses to advocate for our patient’s education and care. Per the Health Belief Model nurses should assist in putting together a plan of action that meets the need of our patients (Elelman, Kudzma, Mandle, 2014). Each patient is different in their cultural beliefs and we should be able to help educate patients taking into consideration each culture. By educating our patients we become better nurses and teachers. As nurses, we should invest in the time it takes to help our patients receive the best care possible.
